I have enjoyed painting and drawing ever since I can remember. Animals, especially horses, were my beloved subjects. Every day after school for ten years I went to art lessons. Composition and sculpture were my favourites, though I always tried to skip the painting classes with still life. Later, as the university studies, motherhood and beginning of the scientific career were taking all my time, I felt the art has to give way. After more than twenty years, with my daughter grown up and the scientific career rolling on, I decided to go back to art. The Brisbane’s artistic community was very supportive and encouraging. Painting is now my primary interest, though I still love using pen and pastels. As I explore the vast wilderness and beauty of the world, be it on a bush walk or sailing Moreton Bay, I am inspired to share these scenes through my art. I aim to reveal the intricate interplay of shape and colour, past and future, dream and reality presented to us through the Nature’s forces.
